The seven-chamber, 88 mm deep system, declared by the manufacturer as suitable for passive houses.
It is the top of the PVC range we produce. The 88 mm depth and the seven-chamber construction make the difference where the building has an energy target, not just a comfort requirement.
The manufacturer declares it suitable for passive houses, to ift guideline WA-15/2, and publishes its transmittance as a range rather than a single value — because it depends on the profile version chosen.
The deep glazing rebate takes units of up to 60 mm, so thick triple glazing or special functional glazing, with no compromise on stability.
The Uf values Kömmerling publishes are values of the profile, not of the installed window. The transmittance of an assembly (Uw) depends on the frame-to-glass ratio, on the glazing unit chosen and on the spacer used, and is established by calculation, on the actual dimensions of the opening.
Documentation
Certifications and testing
For the 88 mm platform we have not identified an applicable CSTB document. We publish only what can be demonstrated.
Assessment and certification documents
Conformity with a laboratory guideline
Body
ift Rosenheim — guideline WA-15/2
Holder
profine GmbH
What it covers
The Kömmerling 88 version with a centre gasket in the passive-house build. The manufacturer declares it a “build suitable for passive houses to ift guideline WA-15/2”, with Uf = 0.95 W/(m²K). It is a declaration of conformity with a guideline, not a numbered certificate.
What we cannot demonstrate for this system
We have found no DTA, Avis Technique or CSTB certificate issued for the 88 mm platform. We do not transfer the documents from the 70 or 76 mm platforms here: they are different procedures, assessed separately.
We have not found a numbered ift Rosenheim test report published for this system. The Uf value above is the one declared by the manufacturer for its reference configuration.
The documents above concern the profile system and are issued in the name of the profile manufacturer, not ours. They do not in themselves certify a window or a door made by MCV ProTrust: certification of a finished product — an A*E*V* classification or an ACOTHERM certificate, for instance — is obtained separately, on the manufacturing unit and on the configuration actually tested. When a project calls for such a document, we settle it before ordering.

What we do with this system
Choosing the version
The system offers a range; the project asks for a value. We settle the profile version, the glazing unit and the typology starting from the actual requirements of the building.
Calculation on the actual assembly
Uf is the value of the profile. The Uw of the window depends on the frame-to-glass ratio and we calculate it on the actual dimensions of the openings.
Hardware matched to the system
We work with hardware approved for the system. The burglar resistance class is achieved only with the matching hardware and build, not from the profile alone.
Installation and handover
We install with our own teams and hand the job over with its documents. The warranty is the one published on our warranties page.
