The finish is the one part of the joinery everybody sees. It is also the part that decides how the façade will look in fifteen years’ time.
For aluminium profiles we produce two families of finish: powder coating and anodising. Each has its own reference standard, its own way of being applied and its own behaviour over time.
Below are the two families, each with its official CORTIZO colour charts: for powder coating, the standard RAL range, the textured coating, the wood effect and the projects chart; for anodising, the anodising chart. All codes are those published by the manufacturer.
Each family carries its official CORTIZO colour charts below. The samples are the manufacturer’s photographs, on the actual profile — we have not generated colour swatches and have not approximated any shade.
Powder coated
Powder coating
The powder is applied electrostatically to the cleaned profile and cured in an oven. It is the most widely used finish on aluminium joinery: it covers the RAL range, supports textured and mottled versions and allows a wood effect.
CORTIZO describes coating as the treatment which, besides protecting against corrosion, “allows an unlimited variety of colours to be obtained”, from the classic gloss or matt finishes, through the rough-textured coatings and the wood effect, to the antibacterial coating.

Standard range
Official CORTIZO chart · The standard chart
The selection of colours CORTIZO keeps in current production. The data sheets declare coating in RAL colours, and the official presentation speaks of “an unlimited variety of colours”: the standard range is the starting point, not the limit. Any other RAL shade can be ordered.

Textured
Official CORTIZO chart · Lacados texturados
A surface with a fine relief, not glossy. It is the “rough” version in the formula the data sheets repeat for every system — “powder coating (RAL, mottled and textured)”. The texture changes the way the façade reads the light and hides marks better than a smooth coating.

Wood effect
Official CORTIZO chart · Lacado imitación madera
The wood decor is obtained on the already coated profile and becomes part of the paint layer, to the Qualideco standard. It is not a foil stuck on top: it is part of the finish and has the same durability as the layer it is applied over. The CORTIZO presentation lists the species pine, oak, chestnut, teak, sapele, cherry and walnut.

Anodised
Anodic oxidation
Anodising does not add a layer on top of the aluminium; it turns its surface into an oxide layer, grown electrochemically. The result keeps the texture of the metal and ages differently from paint: it does not flake, because it is not a film laid on top.
CORTIZO states that the process artificially increases the thickness of the natural oxide layer up to a thousandfold, thereby obtaining a high level of protection against corrosion and abrasion — which is why it recommends it for coastal areas and for buildings exposed to harsh weather.

CORTIZO notes beneath every chart that the shades shown are indicative and may differ, because of colour variations in screen calibration. The choice is confirmed on a physical sample.
Anodising
Shades and mechanical treatments
In anodising, the colour and the appearance are two separate decisions. The same shade looks entirely different depending on the mechanical treatment applied to the profile before oxidation.

Textures and special finishes
Options that run across both families
Textured
A surface with a fine relief, not glossy. It appears in all CORTIZO data sheets as part of the formula “RAL, mottled and textured”. It hides marks and fingerprints better than a smooth coating and gives the façade a matt reading. The official chart has fourteen references.
Mottled
A finish with a visible grain, between smooth and textured. Declared in the same data sheets, again under Qualicoat, with the same coating of over 60 microns.
Two-tone
One colour outside and another inside, on the same profile. It is decided before manufacture. The list of systems whose data sheet declares it is further down this page.
Antibacterial coating
Mentioned by CORTIZO in its general presentation of powder coating and declared explicitly in the data sheet for the Millennium RF with BT Door system.
Anodising in higher classes
Above standard class 15 to Ewwa Euras, the data sheets declare classes 20 and 25 as options. They are chosen where the environment is more aggressive than usual.
Wood effect
It is obtained by decorative coating, to the Qualideco standard, applied over the paint layer. The species listed by CORTIZO are pine, oak, chestnut, teak, sapele, cherry and walnut.
Gloss or matt
The classic finishes in the powder-coating range. Two references from the standard chart are published explicitly in a matt version: 7016 Mate and 9011 Mate.
Qualicoat – Seaside
The certification variant for marine environments. CORTIZO states that its coating is guaranteed through Qualicoat – Seaside and Qualideco, which cover the whole process.
Reference standards
The standard the finish is produced to
Four references recur throughout the official material. They describe the process, not the colour: the same shade produced to a different standard does not have the same life.
Powder coating
Qualicoat
The CORTIZO data sheets declare, for every system, “powder coating (RAL, mottled and textured), to Qualicoat >60 microns”. The figure refers to the minimum thickness of the cured layer.
A coating of over 60 microns
Marine environments
Qualicoat – Seaside
The certification variant for a saline atmosphere. CORTIZO mentions it explicitly among the certificates that guarantee its coating process, alongside Qualideco.
Certification for coastal areas
Decors and wood effect
Qualideco
The standard to which decorative finishes applied over the paint layer are produced. The data sheets declare it in the form “wood-effect coating, to the Qualideco standard”.
Decor applied over the coating
Anodising
Ewwa Euras
The reference for anodic oxidation. The data sheets declare “anodising, to Ewwa Euras / standard class 15, optionally classes 20 and 25”. The class expresses the thickness of the oxide layer.
Standard class 15; optionally 20 and 25
A professional note
The colour on the screen is not the colour on the façade
The samples on this page are the official CORTIZO photographs, on the actual profile — the closest representation we can publish. They remain images nonetheless: the result depends on monitor calibration, on browser settings, on the light in the room and, above all, on the real texture of the finish. The same RAL colour looks different in a smooth, mottled or textured version, and an anodised finish changes tone with the viewing angle.
The manufacturer notes the same thing beneath every colour chart. That is why the shades shown here are indicative, and the final choice is made on a physical sample, on the actual profile, and confirmed in writing before the release to production. We keep the physical CORTIZO palettes in the showroom and send samples for any project on request.
Two-tone means one colour outside and another inside, on the same profile. Not every CORTIZO data sheet declares it, and we do not assume it where the data sheet is silent. The list below is generated directly from the data sheets transcribed in our systems catalogue.

Before production
What we decide together
Finish family
Powder coated or anodised. The decision is about the architecture, the environment the building stands in and the maintenance budget, not just the colour.
The texture, not just the colour
The same colour looks different in a smooth, mottled or textured version. The texture also changes the way the surface hides or shows up marks.
Inside and outside
Two-tone allows a façade in keeping with the street and an interior in keeping with the room’s finishes. It is settled from the outset, because it is a matter of how the profile is made.
The surrounding environment
The coast, industrial areas and a saline atmosphere call for a different conversation about finishes from a house inland. We have it before quoting.
Confirmation on a sample
The chosen colour is seen on a sample of the actual profile, not on a screen. Written confirmation of the shade precedes the release to production.
Consistency across the whole
The joinery, the railings, the shading louvres and the façade caps can all take the same finish, so that the whole reads as one.
